- If BIOS is in Mode 'UEFI Boot only (no CSM)', the bios doesn't automatically boots from the install (F9 and choosing is required). setting the bios option 'custom boot method' with path 'EFIdebiangrubx64.efi' works. (2014-03-23, with Sub-Model SKU D8R81AV, using today's debian-jessie-DI-a1-amd64-CD-1.iso via usb-stick)
Needs at least a 3.8+ kernel to my knowledge. Jessie is fine, Wheezy is too low.
Brightness keys doesn't work out of the box. Install acpid and configure it to respond to these keypresses so it will work. To do this, create the following files:
/etc/acpi/events/hp-brightness-down
/etc/acpi/events/hp-brightness-up
/etc/acpi/hpbright.sh
This one should be executable, so do a chmod +x /etc/acpi/hpbright.sh and you're done. The brightness keys should work now.
Power Management
Works out of the box. Battery life is somewhat longer with intel-microcode (Microcode).
SmartCard Reader
Install pcscd
WiFi & Blutooth
Wireless LAN requires installation of the firmware-iwlwifi package (iwlwifi).
